Friends, sisters, mother and daughter. In a group there's less self-consciousness and more laughter, and it shows — the best frames are usually the ones nobody posed for.
At the convention
You spent months building the costume. It deserves better than a phone snapshot in a corridor with people walking behind you.
Before you write
What almost everyone asks.
What if I can't pose?
Nobody does. It's what I hear most before a session, and guiding you is literally part of the job.
Can I bring someone?
You can, and many people do. It helps more than you'd think in the first ten minutes.
What if I feel silly?
You will, for the first few minutes. It passes. After that nobody wants to stop.
Do I need experience?
No. Most of the people I photograph had never done anything like this before.
